IPCC The Battle for Jesus.

IPCC stands for Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change which is a part of the United Nations.

John Kerry is the U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate, and he will be attending the IPCC meeting in Glasgow (Scotland) in November 2021. We do not know, but Xi Jinping, the President of China, may also attend.

Picture: U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry with his two year old granddaughter Isabelle Dobbs-Higginson on his lap while he signs the climate change agreement on behalf of the U.S. (Earth Day; UN, New York, 22/April/2016). UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon looks on. U.S. State Department photo/Public Domain. Via Wikimedia Commons. Note: John Kerry is now the U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate and António Guterres is the UN Secretary-General,(as at 2021).

We do know that President Xi Jinping has already had meetings with Ambassador John Kerry, and he is committed to reducing the use of fossil fuels, such as coal, which are largely responsible for global warming. President Xi Jinping has joined the fight against climate change.

The 45th President of the U.S.A. did everything possible to sink the IPCC, criticize the United Nations and promote his disbelief in climate change, the ultimate threat to the planet.

Now, Joe Biden, the 46th President of the U.S.A. is reversing that policy and has made climate change a key stone of his official mandate. Joe Biden has committed over two trillion dollars to averting the perils of global warming/climate change. The U.S.A. is back on the planet!

On top of this, key banks and private enterprises in the U.S. will be prioritising even more trillions of dollars over the next ten years to support technologies such as solar and wind energy, domestic and commercial battery storage, electric and hydrogen vehicles, and many other infrastructure projects that will prevent the destruction of our forests and the excessive flooding within our communities. Private enterprise has joined the fight against climate change.

2021 will go down as the year that both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres were both hit hard by climate change. The US had massive fires across California and flooding in the southern states (Hurricane Ida). Europe too, was flooded and burnt out. And TV coverage of the floods in China and other Asian countries have been heart breaking. Mother Nature has told us that global warming/climate change has arrived!

Within all these huge funds mentioned above, primarily Governmental, monies will be needed to soften the inevitable job-transition that will come with moving out of fossil fuels, such as coal, and into renewable energy, such as solar, etc.

Climate change will create job opportunities. There will be some pain, but progress will inevitably bring prosperity. The alternative, ignoring climate change, will only bring hardship beyond belief.

Global unification is vital to keep global warming from climbing a further 1.5 to 2.0 degrees centigrade before 2050, which is the goal of the IPCC.

70% of the global economic community, which includes China and Russia, are now committed to the task. There is cause for optimism.

It is now time for action. ‘Action now’ is crucial. The Battle for Jesus is all about ‘Action now’. Global unification is crucial to averting the perils of global warming. The spirit of all that is within the story to save the planet must be brought to bear at the IPCC conference.

Let’s all of us get behind John Kerry, Joe Biden, President Xi Jinping of China, President Vladimir Putin of Russia, Boris Johnson of the UK, all the members of the G7, the European Parliament and the Middle-eastern and Asian countries to create a global force to drive action at the IPCC meeting in Glasgow in November 2021.

Action overcomes procrastination. Time is vital. The window of opportunity is closing. ‘Now’ is the word! ‘Now’ is the world!

White House press corps and Jesus in the novel The Battle for Jesus set in 2006. Jesus joins the White House press corps and attends briefings in the press room of the West Wing.

After cutting his teeth on The Global Star in New York, Jesus moves to The Washington Truth where Mary Magdalene runs her own column, Mary’s Say.

Jesus is a rookie journalist. Mary is a well-established highly knowledgeable reporter. She takes him under her wing and coaches him.

Mary helps Jesus with his column Jesus’ Say, which he began in New York.

The two columns are a good fit and they soon build a following.

Saint Matthew is the chief editor of The Washington Truth. He wrangles a pass for Jesus to join the White House press corps. So, Mary and Jesus cover the President’s briefings in the White House. Together they are a powerful force and they ‘fill’ the press room.

Other journalists at The Washington Truth and in the press room realise that Jesus and Mary are very special people.

P032106PM-0321. The President answers reporters’ questions during a news briefing in the White House press room March 2006. Photo via Wikimedia Commons: White House Photo by Paul Morse. A work of the U.S. fed’ gov’. Public Domain.

In the story, after each conference, the journalists traditionally retire to Ilsa’s Inn, a local pub where they play pool and bond. Jesus uses this opportunity to learn from the journalists’ experiences covering the White House.

Jesus’ mission is to avert the perils of global warming, the ultimate threat to the planet. But all he finds is a White House mired in war and deaf to the consequences of climate change.

He must swing the US Government away from war and onto global unification if he is to achieve his mission.

Jesus asks the President tough questions causing tension between them.

The President feels (in the story) that Jesus is an imposter playing on his namesake and he complains to the Vice President.

But Jesus continues to seek accountability from the White House Administration.

The other journalists side with Jesus and, inevitably, the situation overflows into an altercation. The knock-on effect is an actual battle in the heart of Washington which the newspapers refer to as The Battle for Jesus.

The Battle for Jesus leads to a resolution that achieves Jesus’ mission encouraging the US Government to forsake the futility of war and focus its resources on global warming and climate change.

The Grim Reaper, the angel of death, in the book The Battle for Jesus is the opposite of all that we have been led to believe in such an iconic character.

Small and affable, the Grim Reaper proudly wears a black cape made by The Mother Mary with a hood to hide his skull and skeletal features, and he carries a scythe which is the symbol of his authority.

The Mother Mary made the cape especially for Grim. It has a hood and two inside pockets, one either side of the cape, enabling him to hide his skeletal hands and wrap the cape around his skeleton. Grim is extremely conscious of his small stature and skeletal appearance.

Grim does not hurt, intimidate, or instil fear in anyone. He is, in fact, in the story, a gentle person with kindly thoughts. He merely escorts our souls to Heaven when the time comes. Although he cannot be seen by mortals he makes every effort to avoid scaring anyone, celestial or otherwise.

Grim is invisible to us mortals until the time of our passing.

He is the conduit between Earth and Heaven. He is highly respected by the Archangels, Saint Gabriel and Saint Michael.

Before the start of the story, Grim tells the Lord and the Souls in Heaven that global warming is threatening the existence of Earth itself. He is the one that says, “No Earth no Heaven, no Heaven no Earth”. He is the reason why the Archangels return to Earth. And, Jesus joins them to help save the world.

Being a ghost, he can only be seen by the solid spirits who are The Mother Mary, Saint Gabriel and Saint Michael.

Jesus and Mary Magdalene are the only mortals that can also see Grim.

Saint Gabriel and Grim team up and they travel the world in a celestial tow truck.

Grim has secreted Moses’s staff in his scythe. It is an exceedingly powerful weapon that the Archangels do not wish to carry around with them. Within the story, there are consequences to this.

It is impossible for Grim to inflict harm on any person. Nor does he want to. Nor does he want to scare anyone, especially Mary Magdalene.

Mary Magdalene, in the story, does not die after the time of the Cross in the Holy Land. She lives on as the Archangel’s ‘boots on the ground’. Grim gets to know her because she is, by command, the only mortal he is not allowed ‘to take’ without her permission.

Mary Magdalene does not hide her love for Jesus and she pines for his return.

Before the start of the story, Grim, over the years, checks on Mary to ensure she is okay. He, with the Archangels, protect her across the two thousand years leading up to the beginning of the novel.

Over the years, Mary Magdalene and Grim get to know each other.

Grim is a lonely fellow and Mary, a beautiful woman, is the only mortal he can talk too.

It is only natural that Grim develops feelings for her. Mary, in turn, gets over his appearance and enjoys his company. He is an acquired taste! She tells him repeatedly that she loves him, but she means this in a platonic way because he is a ghost and nothing could ever become of their relationship.

However, situations change. Grim, other than his scythe, acquires the ability to pick things up. Mary, in turn, can affectionately touch his bones if she so wishes.

The Grim Reaper becomes besotted with Mary. He is still a ghost, but a dilemma evolves in the form of a lover’s triangle between Grim, Mary, and Jesus…

Buckingham Palace is the setting for an important turning point in the novel, The Battle for Jesus.

After Visiting Israel, Jesus and Mary Magdalene stay-over in London for a few days.

Sight-seeing, they relax on the steps of Queen Victoria’s Memorial just opposite Buckingham Palace.

Aerial view of Buckingham Palace, 2016. Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday celebrations.

Photo: SAC Matthew ‘Gerry’ Gerrard RAF/ © MoD Crown Copyright 2016. Via Wikimedia Commons.

As a couple surrounded by hundreds of other vacationers, they enjoy the sunshine and the band practicing in the forecourt.

Mary notices that Queen Elizabeth’s standard (flag) is flying over the palace, signalling that she is in residence, and Mary gets the idea to introduce Jesus to the Queen.

(This aerial picture is of Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday celebrations in 2016. Queen Victoria’s Memorial is in the foreground. Note: the story is set in 2006. So, in the story the Queen would be eighty years old.)

Jesus is hesitant, he just wants to enjoy the holiday atmosphere with Mary.

But Mary insists, telling Jesus how she and Elizabeth first met during the Second World War when the Queen was a young princess. (Remember, in the story Mary Magdalene does not die after the time of the Cross in the Holy Land. She lives on, as a mortal, through the next two thousand years believing that Jesus would return).

Mary tells Jesus that Queen Elizabeth II is a devout lady and the greatest state’s person walking the planet. She also fibs that today is her birthday, and they should do something to celebrate.

Jesus relents and offers a street party. He suggests bringing back all the people who have since died but knew Elizabeth as a young girl or during her reign to wish her a happy birthday.

Jesus instructs Mary to go and get Elizabeth while he organises the celestial party.

While Jesus organises a street party for Queen Elizabeth II, Mary Magdalene contacts the Queen using her red mobile phone and a little Heavenly help.

Mary gets though, and the Queen verifies that she is speaking to her ‘long lost friend’, Mary Magdalene, by asking a series of loaded questions.

The two meet in the Palace for tea.

Within the privacy of the Palace, The Queen, on sight, realises that Mary Magdalene is the person she knew during World War Two as a ‘Katy’ ambulance driver.

Mary has not aged, but the Queen, now eighty years old in the story, has.

So, Mary is no imposter. This means that Jesus cannot be an imposter either.

The Queen gets over the shock and, during tea, the two ‘girls’ exchange experiences and discuss absent friends.

Mary tells the Queen that Jesus has returned to avert the perils of global warming. And, of her desire to marry Jesus.

After tea, the Queen agrees to join Jesus in a walk-about outside the palace in the vicinity of Victoria’s Memorial and the Mall. (See Picture, Victoria’s Memorial is the massive ‘traffic island’ opposite Palace forecourt).

The street party is an amazing celebration of the Queen’s reign with thousands of people returning from Heaven to say hello and offer her a flower.

The Queen challenges Jesus to waltz Mary up and down the Mall. The crowd encourages Jesus to take up the challenge.

Eventually, the ‘solid spirits’ return to Heaven and the Queen is left surrounded by flowers filched from the flower beds in the parks.

The White House Press Briefing Room is central to the book, The Battle for Jesus, a novel set in 2006.

Saint Matthew, the chief editor of the Washington Truth, gets Jesus a pass to attend briefings at the White House with Mary Magdalene.

Mary Magdalene is already a seasoned journalist at the Washington Truth and is known by the other journalists covering The White House.

Mary is a highly respected, supremely articulate journalist. (Having lived over two thousand years since the time of The Cross she is the most informed lady on the planet). Jesus is guided by her, but he is a quick learner and he proves his worth through his column ‘Jesus’ Say’ at the Washington Truth and garners friendship and respect within the White House press corps.

Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony for the James S.
This photo gives you an overview of the press room. However, in the story there is a central aisle which journalists and aides use to get from the back of the room to the lectern.

Note: This picture of the newly renovated Press Room was taken in 2007, a year after the story which is set in 2006.

In the story the President has no idea that Mary Magdalene has lived through the ages from her time in the Holy Land and that Jesus is the real deal. He is frustrated by their persistent questioning over the invasion of Iraq and their concern about global warming.

However, to his credit the President tolerates them, but he considers them a pest and relegates them to the back of the room.

President George W. Wikimedia Commons. Public Domain.

This Photo (left) shows you the size of the room. it is pretty tight for the journalists.

Notice: the centre seat, first row is empty. This is where Helen Thomas, the first female to join the press corps, usually sat. She was highly respected by the President and often referred to as the matriarch of the press corps. Helen was known for asking tough questions.

The President cuts quite a dash with a strong personality and a wry sense of humour.

In the story, he is extremely patient with both Mary Magdalene and Jesus. He respects their integrity and determination as journalists, and he expresses this in the privacy of the Oval Office, but he is also exceedingly frustrated with them. He feels that they are overly pushy, acting as if they are entitled in some way. He sees Jesus as a newcomer playing on his name sake. Indeed, a phoney, which of course he is not, but the President is not to know this.

Both Jesus and Mary relentlessly push for action on global warming. Their goal is to swing the White House Administration away from the futility of war and onto the importance of global warming/climate change.

In the story, set in 2006, tensions build and inevitably there is a clash. The President makes a flippant remark that Jesus feels he must act upon and the lamb turns into the lion. Jesus strides down the aisle of the press room and pushes the lectern aside causing it to tumble to the ground. The two men stand toe to toe.

The White House demand an apology and Saint Matthew, being the chief editor of the Washington Truth, is willing to concede but Mrs Eastman, the proprietor of the newspaper and an ardent believer in global warming, refuses. She knows that Jesus really is Jesus and she stands by him…

Saint Matthew, the chief editor of The Washington Truth, is an important character in the 21st Century story, The Battle for Jesus.

At the beginning of the novel Jesus is writing a column for The Global Star in New York. Jesus loves New York and his column is gaining some traction when one of his articles clashes with the aspirations of Mr Muchmore, the proprietor of the newspaper, and he loses his job.

Saint Matthew salvages the situation by offering to take Jesus and his column to Washington.

On the left is a European picture of Saint Matthew. The painting is called ‘The Evangelist St Matthew and the angel’, by Guido Reni in 1620; courtesy of the Pinacoteca Vaticana Collection, Rome. Via Wikipedia/Wikimedia Commons, Public Domain.

In this picture Matthew is depicted as a kindly, dedicated, old sage scribing his gospel. In the book he is a fifty year old, 21st century executive with the bearing of a competent chief-editor of a major newspaper.

We know very little about Matthew’s physical attributes in the Holy Land two thousand years prior to the time of this story, so we can only define his character by his occupation and actions:

In the Holy Land Matthew was a taxman which meant that he collected taxes for the Romans. In the eyes of many, tax collectors such as Matthew were despised as collaborators and Jesus was chastised for befriending him. However, Matthew introduced Jesus to his family, entertained him and gave up a comfortable life to follow him as a Disciple. Matthew was looked upon as a sinner who had repented.

From this we can deduce that Matthew was a single-minded, determined person willing to sacrifice his career for Jesus. He obviously overcame any concerns that his colleagues may have had about him and he was accepted into the fold. In fact, in the end Matthew suffered the way of a martyr.

Fast forward 2000 years to the 21st Century and Matthew has chosen to return as a ‘volunteer’ to support the Archangels and Jesus in their mission to avert the perils of global warming. (See blog on website headed: ‘the worlds within the story’ within the ‘Behind the Scenes’ column, under ‘Associations’ which explains ‘volunteers’ from the Holy Land.)

The Souls in Heaven recreate Matthew as purpose-fit for his job as a chief-editor of a major newspaper in Washington. We see him as an affable people-person in his fifties, highly educated and deeply interested in local and worldly matters.

Mrs Eastman, a life-long friend of Mary Magdalene and the proprietor of the Washington Truth, knows who he is and makes him his chief editor. The two of them get along splendidly. Matthew is respected by all in the newsroom as a remarkably informed person and great journalist. And, Both Mary Magdalene and Jesus accept him as their boss.

Matthew heads up a great newsroom at the Washington Truth where Mary Magdalene has worked for many years. Matthew gets a pass for Jesus to the press room of the White House and is more than aware of Jesus’s love for Mary Magdalene. He supports the Archangels, in particular St Michael at the Chapel on the Orchard Road and is (off the page) good friends with Martha Bethany, Thomas and the Mother Mary.

Matthew is an intrinsic part of the story helping to knit it all together.

The White House and Jesus, who has returned as a journalist, is a major part of the story.

Jesus and Mary Magdalene cover the press room at the White House for The Washington Truth, an influential newspaper owned by Mrs Lydia Eastman, a devout lady who strongly believes in climate change.

The Story is set in 2006 which places it within the tenure of President George W Bush’s White House Administration, but that is about where it ends.

The President is a composite character largely based on Henry II of England who reigned between 1154 and 1189:

Henry II of England had an ongoing dispute with the all-powerful Archbishop of Canterbury, Thomas a Beckett. Their relationship became so strained that Henry II, in frustration, was overheard to say the historically infamous words: “Will not someone rid me of this turbulent priest?” His knights, in the belief that they were doing the king’s bidding, galloped off to Canterbury Cathedral and put Thomas a Beckett ‘to the sword’ in front of the alter. This occurred on the 29th of December 1170. The exact spot of Thomas’s demise can still be seen today and has been visited by pilgrims and tourists throughout the ages right up to this day.

Fast-forward to 2006 in Washington. In the story, George W Bush respects Jesus as a tenacious journalist and, indeed, he vocalises this in the Oval Office, but like Henry II he loses patience with Jesus and Mary Magdalene’s continual chiding over his invasion of Iraq and the need for him to address the perils of global warming.

The President is driven to distraction by this unrelenting head-strong journalist and his partner, Mary Magdalene. Understand, he does not know, nor can he be expected to have any inkling that he is actually dealing with the real Jesus and Mary Magdalene of the Holy Land. Inevitably there is a clash causing an unforeseen outcome that reverberates across the world. You will have to read the novel, surreal as it is, to find out what happens!

The pictures below are photos of the White House, north and south, or front and back; an aerial overview of the White House and a photo of the Resolute desk in the Oval Office. All of which are important parts of the story.

Note: Neither Jesus, nor Mary Magdalene, nor the Archangels St Michael or St Gabriel, enter the Oval Office. They consider this to be the President’s domain and they show him and his presidential position ‘Heavenly’ respect. The President, wholesome and charismatic, vents his frustration in the Oval Office but the actual altercation is confined to the press room.

Queen Elizabeth II and Jesus in reality are bonded.

The Queen is a devout lady, she is the titular head of the Anglican Church. In the novel, Mary Magdalene brings Queen Elizabeth II and Jesus together.

Queen Elizabeth’s unswerving belief in Jesus is paramount to the story.

Prior to the beginning of the novel, Queen Elizabeth meets Mary Magdalene and Nancy Shuttleworth (Mary’s co-driver) on a visit to an ATS maintenance depot during World War Two with the view to joining up.

So, in the story, Queen Elizabeth, as a young princess, is actually a civilian when she meets Mary Magdalene in 1944.

Photo credit: NASA/Bill Ingalls. Courtesy of NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Centre, USA, taken 8th May 2007, she is 81 years old in this picture. Public Domain; Wikipedia/ Wikimedia Commons.

Queen Elizabeth II is 81 years old in this picture, so in the story set in 2006, she would be a year younger (80 years old) and she would actually look just like this.

In the story, the Queen retains an old black and white snap-shot of herself with Mary and Nancy Shuttleworth in front of a WWII Katy ambulance,(taken during World War Two at an ATS maintenance depot). The Queen treasures this picture and still has it on her work desk amongst family photos in 2006.

Again, in the story, the Queen uses this WWII snapshot to question the validity of Mary Magdalene before they meet in the Palace. She knows that Mary is no hoax, primarily because, when they meet, Mary is exactly the same as in the snapshot when they first met during the Second World War, and the Queen, has naturally aged. Pre-warned by Mary, the Queen gets over the shock!

Confident, the Queen goes on a walk-about in the Mall and Jesus takes her through the passage of her reign. Note again, the Queen would look just as she is in the above picture.

Obviously, this is a very special and grand scene within a unique story. A major turning point.

Following the walk-about in the Mall, the Queen maintains a deep interest in Mary and Jesus as journalists at The Washington Truth. The Queen joins the fight against climate change.

Later in the story, with legal ‘constitutional’ advice from Nancy Shuttleworth, the Queen carries the fight in St George’s Hall, Windsor Castle, to swing governments away from war and conflict and concentrate the world’s resources onto climate change.

Effectively, Queen Elizabeth II saves the planet.

You will have to read the novel to see how all this comes to a conclusion at Windsor Castle.

Queen Elizabeth II was born in April 1926. This would make her 80 years old in the story set in 2006. Merely a year younger than in the above photo.

A beauty in her youth, and today, even in her nineties, she is still a fashion icon followed by renowned magazines across the globe. Queen Elizabeth II is a much loved and respected monarch who has never stinted, shirked or flinched from her duties. A great head of State.

St Michael’s Crossroads Chapel in The Battle for Jesus is so named because we all face a crossroad of some sort in our lives.

Outside, St Michael’s Crossroads Chapel is a wooden church painted blue and white with a spire. There is no cross on the spire. Inside, it is a cathedral. There are no crosses within the cathedral itself. The St Michael’s Crossroads Chapel is for everyone. It was built by Souls in Heaven of all denominations and creeds.

Mary Magdalene is the primary architect because she is well versed in the building of cathedrals and has previously worked with many of the masons in Heaven before they died. And they, in turn, don’t hesitate at the opportunity to work with her again.

Mary Magdalene loves cathedrals, The Mother Mary too, but Jesus, being ‘an outdoors boy’ and difficult to impress, is not that fussed with the fluted pillars, masonry and stained glass windows. However, because Mary built it, he puts up with it.

St Michael lives with The Mother Mary in the vicarage attached to the cathedral. Although being an Archangel and the patron saint of battle, he returns as a quintessential village vicar, an affable fellow who quickly succumbs to The Mother’s cooking and mortal ways – he loves his whisky!

The chapel is located by the crossroads on the Orchard Road which is a wide country jaunt surrounded by beautiful rural farmland and apple trees. It is a picnic setting.

Mr Muchmore, a media baron, spends a night as a ‘guest’ of St Michael and The Mother. The following day he walks the Orchard Road to Washington. A life changing experience which turns him into an ardent convert to Christianity and Climate change.

The Orchard Road, in the story, can be found in the firmament just off Highway 95 between New York and Washington. Anyone who has had a sip of Momma’s complimentary apple juice at one of her restaurants will see the exit signs!

The power of prayer is a vital part of the book: The Battle for Jesus. We all pray and the power of prayer is an intrinsic part of our being.

Prayer is only natural. A part of our inner person. Sometimes we pray out loud or within our inner-speak. We pray all the time, much more than we realise. How’s that you ask? Well, we all pray for something, to better our lives, or those of others. It does not matter where we are, in a car, in church, on our own, or in a group. Whether we are on earth or in outer space, we all pray. It is just the way it is: generally, we all ask for something to work out.

There is no measure as to the importance of an individual’s prayer. There is no rhyme or reason to it. Every prayer is important. There can be guidance but no judgement and no cynicism from an outsider. Prayer is a personal thing. It is not selfish. It is a powerful part of our soul. It is a part of an acceptance or an expression of the spirit of love.

Folk of all ages, all creeds, all beliefs, and those that have none, pray. Particularly, those that have none! They just don’t admit to it! And, that’s okay! It doesn’t matter. We all pray, it is an inner-expression, often a consoling activity, a loving thing, and Jesus is love. He understands us all, and he is blessed with the ultimate power of forgiveness.

There is no set way to pray. Some hold their hands together to make a steeple, some clasp their hands as in a fist and some open their arms as if to open their hearts. We are all different, so our prayers and how we pray is different. It is private to ourselves.

In the story, The Battle for Jesus, we learn through Jennifer how Saint Matthew, in the chapel, suggests we pray. He makes it very simple, just say: “Hello God, it’s me here, is that you there? Say yes, because you know it is …” and start praying. Simple. Any place, any time.

This picture captures the power of prayer, the gentleness, the sincerity and loving nature of The Mother Mary.

No matter who you are, where you are, or what age you are, prayer works. Fact.
